Summary: During appressorium development, almost 40% of the genome undergoes gene rewiring. A hierarchical transcription network composed of master regulators controls several stages of development in a discrete manner. However, there are also additional layers of gene regulation that are still unknown such as DNA methylation or histone modifications that have not been yet explored. 
General objective: explore in a holistic manner what are the mechanisms (genetic, regulatory and epigenetic) that control gene expression in M. oryzae to identifying master regulatory hubs or decipher developmental switches.
